The festival of monsoon named Hariyali Teej was celebrated by Prerita Mahila Samiti-NTPC Lara with pomp and grandeur on 4th August 2024. Smt Ayesha Mishra, president, Arpita Mahila Samiti, WR-II was the Chief Guest of the programme. The programme was started with welcoming and lamp lighting by Smt Ayesha Mishra along with senior members of Arpita Mahila Samiti, (WR-II) along with Smt Anuradh Sharma, President, Prerita Mahila Samiti and other senior members.
Hariyali teej is derives its name from the lush green look of earth after onset of monsoon.
To bring festivity and cultural fervour to the programme Teej Queen contest was also organised for the members of ladies club with more fun filled competitions. The competition started with self-introduction, ramp walk, singing, dancing and question and answer round by the judges.
In the Teej Queen competition Smt Priyanka Meena crowned as Teej Queen and Smt Nisha Prakash declared as the runner-up of Hariyali Teej 2024. Besides, awards like Mrs. Gorgeous, Mrs. Beautiful, Mrs. Confident and Sawan Sundari was awarded to Mrs. Swagatika Sahoo, Mrs. Sonam Lilhare, Mrs. Yogita Thakur and Smt. Yukti Dewangan also selected by the eminent jury members.
On this occasion, Smt. Pubali Ghosh, Mrs. Smita Gokhe and Smt Swati Gokhale, of Arpita Mahila Samiti (WR-II) and Smt. Anuradha Sharma, President, Prerita Mahila Samiti and all members of PMS were present and enjoyed the programme.
